SUKAT METZILA
The project "SUKAT METZILA" was created as part of the 'Image Making' course.
In this project, I chose to redesign the lifeguard tower at "Metzitzim" beach in Tel Aviv — a site traditionally associated with male-dominated gender imagery.
The goal was to challenge these stereotypes by creating a "female lifeguard tower" that would inspire young girls visiting the beach to imagine themselves as future lifeguards.
The design was inspired by the style of the Shamir brothers, renowned for creating optimistic, direct, and powerful imagery that reflected values of nation-building, independence, and vision. This aesthetic choice aligned perfectly with the project’s aim: to strengthen the message of female empowerment and open, inclusive horizons for the future.
